As I’m sure you know by now, j and I just got back from Italy a couple of weeks ago.  To say that we have quite a few pics from the trip would be an understatement.

Being a Flickr fan, I’ve been aware of Picasa for a while now.  Both services have deskto-based uploading capabilities.  I’d read on Lifehacker that it was possible to upload from Picasa to Flickr.  Being a Google newbie since I switched to the Googlephone, I thought I’d take it for a spin.

Picasa is free photo editing software from Google that makes your pictures look great.
Sharing your best photos with friends and family is as easy as pressing a button!

Holy crap, is it awesome!  Within minutes of installing it on my PC, that thing had crawled every damn inmage on my computer, catalogued it, and served it all up in a super slick interface.

I’ve been using Flickr for quite a few years now, mostly because it’s easy to upload photos from any phone I’ve owned. One thing I did not want to do is switch services. A simple plug-in installation added a button which allows me to upload from Picasa to Flickr. And Facebook. And I can send them to CVS to be printed. Amazing.

I’ve made video slideshows of all three locations we visited which I intend on burning to DVD.  I don’t have Nero anymore.  Can anyone recommend a DVD creation client?
